Renewing the Vision
2010 Middle States Self Study

In the autumn of 2009, the school administration began to plan for the process of preparing the “Renewing the Vision” document. This included assessing St. Gregory the Great 27 
School according to the twelve Middle States Association standards. As such, faculty and staff committees were formed, and each committee took responsibility for researching stakeholder thoughts, values, and beliefs necessary to accurately assessing the school’s implementation of each performance indicator. Concurrently, it was necessary to engage the faculty and staff in reviewing the vision and belief statements to be certain that these statements accurately reflect St. Gregory the Great School. Once these reviews and assessments were completed, it was necessary to revisit the goals identified in the Strategic Plan, extend the scope of the goals that were retained, and add any additional goals that became apparent through the research process. The individual committees met according to their own schedules. Major, whole-staff Middle States planning sessions were held on March 19, 2010, June 22, 2010, and October 5, 2010. The finalized “Renewing the Vision” document was completed on October 8, 2010.
